Subject: Nguyen-DoerflerB-207-1326688 Date: Wed, 12 Dec 2001 15:44:31 -0600 Mr. Doerfler: Thank you for taking the time to e-mail us here at Best Buy. I was sorry to read of your difficulties. Please allow me to address your concerns accordingly. Let me apologize on behalf of Best Buy if we did not have the DSL router and MP3 player you sought in stock. Best Buy strives to provide appropriate quantities of merchandise at every store. Unfortunately, circumstances such as unexpectedly brisk sales or manufacturer distribution delays may prevent a product from being available in appropriate quantities. If advertised items are out of stock, stores are authorized to provide customers with rainchecks unless special conditions apply. While rainchecks do not ensure the availability of the product, they do entitle the customer to purchase the product at the advertised price when stock is replenished. I certainly understand your disappointment, so please be assured that we are taking every effort to make our shopper's experience an enjoyable one. In addition, I am sorry that you feel as if Best Buy employees and management staff may not have been as informed and as attentive to your needs as you would have preferred. However, I have contacted Peoria location on your behalf. I have spoken to Chris in the computer department. He has assured me that he will be contacting shortly to fulfill your raincheck. If the Peoria store does not have these items available, they will substitute it with a comparable product. In addition, if the Peoria store does not contact by December 13th you regarding this matter, please feel free to contact me again by replying to this email. On behalf of Best Buy I apologize for any inconvenience or frustration that may have resulted from the service you received. Your feedback will prove valuable in helping Best Buy improve its customer relations in the future. Thank you again for contacting us here at Best Buy. Respectfully, Courtney Nguyen Internet Correspondence Best Buy Corporate Headquarters
